If it rains...

...if it rains on our phils game this weekend, I guess we'll just divvy up everyone's tickets and see when they reschedule. Not much we can do about it.

If it's obviously canceled, I propose we go drinkin'.

I'm with the short one

I'd like to post a lot more, but it seems like I have nothing too interesting to say. I haven't been going on the internet very much for two reasons: first, I have a baseball team that might as well be named "The Mark Fleming Royals" and second, we had a sketch voting meeting yesterday.

For some reason, I was completely tapped for ideas, and my superhero sketch wasn't coming together and that frustrated me. However, I did get a humorous sketch about Abraham Lincoln done, which was voted into the show. We also are doing a sketch involving a skeleton named Mr Bones testifying for the defense. All as an excuse to buy a $100 skeleton. Awesome.

Um..let's see...comic books are going well. The DC Universe is about to kick Superboy's ass, which is cool. And Marvel is gearing up to undergo a Civil War, pitting superhero against superhero as they debate becoming government agents.

Oh, and I also met this Marine the other day. He was enlisted for several years, and then became an ADA in NYC until 9/11, when he reenlisted and joined up with an artifact recovery team. He travels around the Middle East and Europe following leads and raiding bases recovering artifacts stolen from the Iraq National Museam. We only got to chat for a minute, but he signed his book for me, and it's a great read.

(You know, I just realized this is Phillies weekend, which means most of you guys won't be reading this for a while anyway.)

Well, as it seems I'm out of material already, I'll be signing off for now. I just didn't want someone so short to show me up.

WHAT'S UP??!!

Yeah, there's nothing really going on here. I just work all the time & I check this site like every other minute and I'm tired of staring at the same old thing. I would write some crazy update...but I have nothing. :)

peace out from the short one!

At the White House

So I volunteered this past Monday to help out with the White House Egg Roll -- it's this big Easter event on the front lawn of the White House where families wait in line for tickets, then dress their kids up in tiny suits and dresses so they can get all muddy within 15 feet of the First Lady. What a thrill!

It rained like crazy, so I can't say I had an amazing time helping out, but it was interesting to be behind the gates briefly. Mostly I felt like a famous Washington intern -- going to the White House for an hour just to get wet.

The sheer number of costumed characters at this event is mind-boggling. I think I saw everything from the Ice Age characters to Dora the freakin' Explorer. It's a bit surreal.

I put some pictures up on flickr, if you're into that sort of thing.
